John Dalton was born on September 6th 1766 in Eaglesfield, England. Dalton was born color-blind along with one of his 2 surviving brothers. When John was a little kid he identified the hereditary nature of red-greed color blindness. John longed for a good education but his family was very poor and it was clear that he would need to help with his family's finances at a young age. At age 14 Dalton and his brother became a teacher for 12 years at a college in Manchester. In 1803 John revealed the concept of Dalton's Law and Partial Pressures. Also in the 1800's Dalton was the first to explain the weight and measurement of the atom. John Dalton passed away on July 26th, 1844, in Manchester, England. He lived to be 78.
